  • Insurance Contract Rescue: Successfully project-managed the renewal of a critical general insurance contract for the manufacture and supply of general insurance products to a major Australian insurance company. This $1.75 billion, five-year contract was on the brink of being lost but was saved through a radical revision of the engagement model, negotiations between buyer and seller at CEO level, coupled with the transformation of the client management team, resulting in a remarkable turnaround.
     

  • Largest Financial Services Tender: Appointed as Project Director for one of Australia's largest financial services tenders (top 3 globally) with a $2 million bid budget and seventy contributors. Successfully secured the NSW Treasury Managed Fund contract, worth over $6 billion in premiums over five years. This success was repeated 5  years later.
     

  • Tender and Proposal Methodology: Developed a tender and proposal project methodology instrumental in securing major contracts exceeding $20 billion over two decades.
     

  • Management Consultancy: Established a management consultancy specializing in assisting private sector companies in bidding for large government contracts.
     

  • Business Development Leadership: Appointed as Director of Business Development for SMS Management & Technology Ltd, bidding for and overseeing consulting assignments in the health, banking, and finance sectors.
     

  • Board Appointments: Appointed to the board of the Australian Private Hospitals’ Association (APHA), representing 400 independent private hospitals across Australia. Additionally, served as Vice Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association of NSW. Board member of the Centre for Bone & Joint Diseases from its inception.
     

  • Healthcare Reforms: Implemented the first Commonwealth Government simplified billing project in NSW, fostering more efficient healthcare billing processes.
     

  • Hospital CEO and Turnaround: Appointed as the CEO of a doctor-owned private hospital facing financial difficulties. Successfully transformed the hospital's fortunes through specialization in vascular and minimally invasive surgery, adding an Intensive Care Unit and earning ACHS accreditation. Implemented financial accountability reporting and turned the hospital's financial fortunes around in three months.
     

  • Hospital Privatization and Expansion: Negotiated the sale of The Centre for Bone and Joint Diseases to Ramsay Health Care Ltd, contributing to the establishment of the North Shore Private Hospital. Coordinated the trust account setup with the University of Sydney for rheumatological and orthopaedic disease research. Also secured the Centre’s appointment as a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney.
     

  • Accreditation and Hospital Relocation: Initiated and managed a project leading to The Centre’s first-time accreditation by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS). Developed financial and strategic plans for a hospital's relocation, doubling its size, and managing a $10 million redevelopment project.
     

  • Community Hospital Transformation: Repurposed and privatized a community-based hospital, doubling its capacity to provide orthopaedic and rheumatology services as a specialist centre for bone and joint diseases, performing the largest number of major joint replacements in NSW at the time. Managed the complex change process.
     

  • Young Hospital CEO: Appointed as a hospital CEO at the age of 29, demonstrating early leadership potential.
     

  • Cost-saving Initiatives: Led the implementation of competitive tendering for NSW Health, generating substantial recurrent savings of $80 million annually in the first year. This politically sensitive initiative involved negotiations with various stakeholders and the creation of management services agreements with the private sector.
     

  • Healthcare Policy Pioneer: Designed and managed the implementation of the first No Smoking in the Workplace policy in a teaching hospital in Australia, contributing to subsequent health legislation making it compulsory.
     

  • Health Services Planning: Co-designed and implemented the first Area Health Services Plan for NSW under the Area Health Services Act of 1986. This included the integration of various healthcare services and departments.
     

  • Innovative Healthcare Systems: Featured in IBM Quarterly for designing and implementing the first multi-hospital business office and financial management systems in the private sector for HCA (Australia) Pty Ltd, now Ramsay Health Care Ltd.
     

  • Cutting-Edge Hospital Administration Systems: Designed, documented, and implemented the first computer-based bespoke patient administration and business office systems for NSW public hospitals, including patient records, diagnostic test, hospital accommodation billing, and morbidity analysis systems.
